My name is Sarah Hassan, and I am currently a Grade 12 student at Sinclair Secondary School. I am passionate about science and giving back to the community, something I am able to accomplish by giving my time to volunteer at hospitals and organizations such as heart and stroke. I am a firm believer in diversity and the importance of bringing about awareness, and for this I was given an award by the Durham Region for a project I did about Islam in Canada. Among this, I also eagerly involve myself in many clubs at school from business to science clubs as well as exploring my love for writing through the school newspaper. In my free time, I enjoy reading and baking, as well as playing badminton for a Whitby club. I believe it is important to be a well rounded individual, and I strive to make myself so.
