We are the Change and Our Time Is Now
By: Mariana Anaya | It’s the youth who have taken the reins of revolutions. Somehow it’s become normal between adults to dismiss the efforts of young people, such as the leaders of the March For Our Lives. What people should understand is that we need not wait until adulthood to make a change, for we are the change and our time is now. We the youth demand to be heard. From India to Argentina to Mexico, it’s the students who carry the weight of the world on their juvenile shoulders. Whether it’s the decriminalization of abortion, the high incidence of feminicides or the right to a safety, we wave our flags proudly and unite our voices for the fight for change. It’s true we lack the experience of elders, but I dare anyone to try and shut down the millions of kids and teens taking the world by storm.
