Mariel is a high-school junior in Michigan, USA. She's involved in her school as president of its United Way chapter, an active member of Student Council and NHS. Using this new platform, she would like to raise awareness surrounding girls education, the treatment of immigrants in modern America, refugees, sustainability, as well as the education epidemic in her mother’s home country, the Philippines. She dreams of running a nonprofit that builds school for children in developing countries.
